The incident was first reported just after 6.45pm and three pumper trucks and a breathing apparatus truck raced to the scene.
ACT Fire and Rescue firefighters attend a fire in Gladstone Street Fyshwick.
The fire had been mostly extinguished by the occupants before firefighters arrived.
Firefighters were ventilating the building before occupants were allowed to return.
Commander Leigh Curtis said no one had required ambulance attention following the fire.
