NSW police said they spotted the blue Honda 900cc motorcycle allegedly travelling 148km/h in a 110km/h zone on the Federal Highway at Brooks Creek near Bywong about 9am on Saturday.

"Police activated lights and sirens in an attempt to stop the motorcycle," they said.

"It will be alleged the rider reached speeds of 230km/h; however, no pursuit was initiated due to safety concerns. The rider did not stop and continued towards Canberra."

Police said they later went to a home in Googong, and arrested a 43-year-old-man, whose learner's licence was disqualified until January 2017.

"The man was taken to Queanbeyan Police Station and issued a court attendance notice for police pursuit – not stop ("Skye's Law"), drive whilst disqualified, drive at speed dangerous to the public, exceed speed limit over 45km/h, possess prohibited drug and possess utensils for administration of prohibited drug."

The man's licence was also suspended again, and his motorcycle seized for three months.
