Canberra real estate agencies have been recognised as among the best in the country during the Real Estate Institute of Australia 2013 National Awards on Thursday.

Maria Selleck Properties and Luton Properties took out two of the 16 awards during the ceremony in the Great Hall at Parliament House.
Luton Properties won the community service award while Maria Selleck Properties won the small residential agency of the year.
Queensland agencies took out six of the 16 categories, while Victoria also won four major awards including large residential agency of the year and medium residential agency of the year.
The individual winners included 94-year-old Les Warne, of Western Australia, who was presented with the president's award after more than six decades in the industry.
Hobart will host next year's REIA awards ceremony.
