Ongoing lane closures and a lowered speed limit will restrict traffic at the Eastern Valley Way and Aikman Drive intersection in Belconnen from Tuesday as the construction of a high rise building gets under way.

Eastern Valley Way's southbound left lane will be closed between Emu Bank and Aikman Drive and will be used as a temporary bus lane and construction zone.
About 90 metres of Aikman Drive's eastbound left lane will also be closed from Eastern Valley Way.
The speed limit for Eastern Valley Way between Emu Bank and Aikman Drive will be lowered from 60 to 40 kilometres an hour.
Parts of the footpaths around the intersection will also be closed with pedestrian detours in place.
The changes will begin at 7pm on Tuesday, March 17, and will remain until December 24, 2016, while a multi-storey high rise building is constructed.
