Police are treating as suspicious a unit fire in which a woman was burnt yesterday.
A 49-year-old woman was taken to Canberra Hospital with burns to 20 per cent of her body after the fire in Owen Crescent, Lyneham yesterday.
"She had suffered burns to her arms and face. She was taken to The Canberra Hospital where she was treated for her injuries," police said.
"The unit complex did not suffer any structural damage however the first floor was badly burnt."
The fire started on the ground floor of a two-storey residence after 4pm. It was extinguished half an hour later.
The damage bill is believed to be more than $100,000. ACT Fire and Rescue Northside Commander Greg Mason said it was not known how the fire started.
The woman was in hospital last night with serious injuries to her upper body and respiratory system. She was the only occupant home at the time.
