Man, 92, robbed in his home

February 5, 2012

Police are requesting public assistance after a 92-year-old man was wrestled to the ground and burgled at knifepoint in his Turner home on Sunday morning.

The man answered the front door of his Boldrewood Street home at about 9.00am, whereupon the offender immediately entered the house and wrestled the victim to the ground.

The offender then threatened the man with a pocket knife and demanded his wallet, before leaving the premises with the wallet and a sum of cash.

Ambulance crews attended the scene, however the victim was shaken but not hurt.

The offender is described as Caucasian in appearance, 178cm tall with a medium build, and was wearing grey coloured slacks and a short sleeved shirt at the time.

Police are appealing for witnesses to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers website on www.act.crimestoppers.com.au .
