Jai Bradley Slater, 19, was granted bail on strict conditions when he appeared in the ACT Magistrates Court on Monday morning.
Magistrate Peter Dingwall released the accused on the condition he reside in Macgregor, obey a curfew to be at home between 8pm and 6am, report to police twice a week, and to not go near the Wanniassa service station.
Slater allegedly used a improvised weapon to take about $1300 from the Tuggeranong fuel outlet on the weekend.
He has not yet entered a plea.
A police statement said a man armed with a knife attached to a stick entered the 7-Eleven Service Station on Erindale Drive, Wanniassa, about 2.30am on Saturday.
The man allegedly threatened a staff member with the weapon and demanded cash.
The staff then handed over about $1300 and the offender fled on foot in the direction of Erindale Drive and Ashley Drive.
Police obtained CCTV footage from the premises and issued an image of the robber to help identify the man.
Bradley was arrested later that day and charged with the robbery.
The prosecutor did not oppose his bail application in court on Monday and the matter was listed to reappear next month.
