A man armed with a pistol has robbed a 7-Eleven in Belconnen early Monday morning.

An ACT Policing spokesman said the man used a hammer to force his way into the Spence service station, at the corner of Clarey Crescent and Glassey Place, about 4.35am.
The offender threatened an employee with a pistol, demanding the staff member hand over cash.
The employee complied and the man fled the store with a sum of money.
The spokesman said no one was injured during the robbery.
Police have described the man as of Caucasian appearance, about 175cm tall with a thin build.
He was wearing a dark blue hooded jumper, dark sunglasses, dark pants and light coloured shoes.
