An ACT Policing spokeswomen said a 23-year-old man was arrested and taken to the ACT Watch House. He will face the ACT Magistrates Court on Wednesday on charges relating to burglary and theft.
Criminal Investigations Detective Superintendent Paul Shakeshaft said the incident offered a timely reminder to residents about the importance of securing their home and property over this holiday season.
“If you are heading away over the Christmas and New Year period it is important to ensure you take the time to secure your home properly before leaving,” he said.
“Make sure all of your doors, windows and side and rear access gates are locked, get a neighbour to collect mail for you and ask them to keep an eye on the place for you while you are away.”
