A man was punched and kicked in the head, and then left unconscious on a Civic street after an altercation with a group of men in the early hours of Friday morning.

ACT Policing said the victim, in his mid-30s, was walking with a friend in Petrie Plaza about 3.30am on Friday when he approached a group of five men.
The victim spoke to the group before one of the men punched him, causing him to fall to the ground.
Police were told by witnesses that the victim was then kicked in the head as he lay on the ground.
The group then left the area, and ACT Ambulance Service were called, transporting him to Canberra Hospital.
A spokeswoman for ACT Health confirmed the patient was still in hospital on Monday afternoon and was in a stable condition.
The offender is described as being Caucasian, about 175 centimetres tall, with dark, medium-length scruffy hair, clean shaven and with a distinctively large nose
At the time of the assault, he was wearing a dark t-shirt and dark pants.
He was part of a group of five men of a similar height and build.
