A Banks man charged with threatening to kill his partner in the early hours of Saturday morning was granted bail on the condition he stay away from the family home and his child's childcare centre.

The man appeared in the ACT Magistrates Court on Saturday charged with smashing a bedroom and cupboard door, as well as threatening to kill his partner earlier that morning.
Prosecutor Tom Buckingham opposed bail, noting there was an earlier charge of common assault against the man's 15-year-old son, who had since moved out of the house.
He said the threat to kill a member of the family should be considered with the context of a previously charge of assault against a family member.
The defence said the defendant would be willing to move out of the house he shared with his partner of three and a half years if he was granted bail.
According to court documents, the concreter left the house after the alleged incident and walked to a park to "cool down".
The defence said the man saw a police car outside his house as he made his way back to the park and complied with their instructions before his arrest.
Magistrate Glenn Theakston granted the defendant bail, but barred him from coming near members of his family or their house, as well as a childcare centre his 22-month-old child attended.
The case will return to court on February 14.
The defendant has yet to enter a plea for any of his charges.
