Karlton Mitchell Jones, 52, appeared before the Queanbeyan Local Court on Friday on charges over an incident on Tuesday, including discharging and possessing an unregistered firearm.
Court documents show Jones had been drinking with his co-accused, yet to surrender to police, at a Belconnen pub on Tuesday when the pair agreed to go rabbit shooting on the other man's Wallaroo property.
The documents said the co-accused had been part of a dispute with his neighbours over a common access road to their properties. On the road, the men allegedly came across the neighbours' son and the cars tailgated each other.
The son later told his mother and she drove down to confront Jones and the co-accused.
The woman, who filmed the incident on her mobile phone, was speaking with the co-accused when she allegedly heard a loud crack and a shattering noise.
She turned to see the rear driver's side window shattered. Jones allegedly said: "You are lucky, I was aiming at your head."
She fled and called the police from her brother's property nearby.
Police reported finding a single bullet hole in the metal frame of the rear driver's window, which had been fired from behind at an angle, which resulted in the slug hitting the driver's seat head rest.
Jones handed himself in to police on Thursday and took part in a record of interview.
Jones was granted bail with strict conditions, including a requirement that he report to police three times each week and surrender his firearms.
