A man has been hospitalised with serious head injuries after an altercation at the Canberra Raiders Sports Club on Anzac Day.

Police were called to the Gungahlin club where an unconscious 40-year-old man was being treated by the ACT Ambulance Service around 8.45pm on Thursday.
The man had serious head injuries, sustained following an altercation with a 26-year-old man, and was taken to the Canberra Hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition.
The 26-year-old man involved in the altercation has spoken to police about the altercation, as have a number of witnesses.
