A pedestrian was knocked unconscious and left with critical injuries when he was hit by a car on Northbourne Avenue at Dickson.

Police said they were investigating the incident, in which a pedestrian ran out on to Northbourne Avenue about 10.50pm. A car had just turned right from Mouat Street, Lyneham, and was heading south.
"The pedestrian was stuck by the front left guard of the vehicle and his head struck the left side of the windscreen near the 'A pillar' before he came to rest on the roadway," police said.
"He was assisted at the scene by the driver and other motorists and emergency services were contacted."
The Emergency Services Agency said the man was taken to Canberra Hospital in a serious condition on Saturday night and he had suffered multiple leg injuries.
"The ACT Ambulance Service responded to the incident on the corner of Northbourne Avenue and Antill Street just before 11pm," it said in a statement.
"Intensive care paramedics arrived to find a man in his 20s unconscious with multiple leg injuries."
Police said the southbound lanes of the road were blocked for several hours while they investigated.
