The victim, a 38-year-old man from Kaleen, was stabbed in the back several times on platform two at about 5pm, and taken to the Canberra Hospital where he received surgery for serious injuries.
Police said several witnesses provided descriptions which lead to the arrest of a 54-year-old man from McKellar, who was charged overnight.
He will face court on Monday morning charged with intentionally inflicting grievous bodily harm, intentionally wounding, and offensive weapon dangerous to a person.
A police spokesman said they did not yet know if the two men knew each other and appealed for more witnesses to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or at crimestoppers.com.au.
