A man has been winched to safety by the Snowy Hydro SouthCare helicopter on Tuesday afternoon after suffering chest pains while walking next to the Molonglo River.

The man, whose age is not yet known, was unfamiliar with the area where he was walking, according to a Snowy Hydro SouthCare spokeswoman.
The area was in dense bushland.
