The man, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, has pleaded not guilty to charges of sexual intercourse without consent and committing acts of indecency. He has said the sexual intercourse in May 2009 was consensual.
The court heard the pair met when they worked at the same gym. Soon afterwards, the defendant offered the 19-year-old fitness instructor a massage so they could refer clients to each other.
During the massage, the man allegedly locked the door before pulling down her underpants, groping her breasts, slapping and kissing her buttocks and forcing intercourse.
The woman's pre-recorded evidence was shown to jurors on the first day of the trial on Monday.
Prosecutor Mark Fernandez told the jurors the man knew there was no consent, or was reckless to the issue of consent.
Mr Fernandez said the alleged victim had been unable to speak or move during the incident, other than to tell the masseur she was not on the contraceptive pill.
Defence barrister James Lawton said it had been a spontaneous, consensual sexual act between two people.
Mr Lawton argued that his client maintained the sex had been initiated by the woman, and while it may have been unusual it was not illegal.
The trial before Justice Hilary Penfold continues.
