Director David Edwards said the street was fast becoming an outdoor enthusiast hub with a bike and coffee shop at the end of the street and plans for a ski and snowboard retailer, and four-wheel-drive store well under way.
''Fyshwick is easily accessed compared to driving into the city and finding somewhere to park and that resonates with our customers,'' Mr Edwards said.
''We also see the dynamic of Fyshwick changing and I guess we're at the forefront of that, and we think other outdoor stores will come to us as Civic and particularly Lonsdale Street - where the outdoor stores are at the moment - becomes less affordable.'' There are already five bike shops and three general camping stores in the suburb and Mr Edwards said the company made the move from Queanbeyan as they needed more space. The local business employs 20 staff and the Pirie Street shop joins the company's large warehouse at the back.
''I see Fyshwick as a new retail hub,'' he said.
