However, results reveal rather than jumping online or calling, customers rated their experience was best at Access Canberra service centres.

The 2017 survey asked 603 people to rate customer satisfaction, ease of use and whether their issues were resolved for all three channels: the service centre, website and telephone contact centre.

In 2016 overall customers satisfaction was at 88 per cent with service centres receiving a 94 per cent satisfaction rating.

This year overall satisfaction was at 85 per cent, but the satisfaction rating with service centres has risen three points to 97 per cent.

While directorate figures show the highest volume of transactions occur through the website, it remains the lowest of the individual satisfaction and ease of use scores with a 83 per cent rating in both areas.

The service centres dealt with 43 per cent of drivers' licences and 38 per cent car registrations, the website handled 28 per cent of car registrations and 9 per cent of drivers licences, whereas the telephone contact centre dealt with 24 per cent of complaints and 18 per cent of car registrations.

The report states "despite all the changes that have occurred in service provision over the past two years (ie. shifting from multiple services to one), satisfaction has remained largely unchanged."

However, Minister for Regulatory Services Gordon Ramsay was quick to confirm the survey results demonstrated things were on track.

"Beyond the facts and figures, what this means is that whether people visit an Access Canberra Service Centre, call the Contact Centre or use the website, they can expect to receive quality service.""I would like to acknowledge the great work that Access Canberra staff are doing to ensure that Canberrans are able to have their matters resolved effectively."
