The Majura Parkway project will close part of Fairbairn Avenue from tonight as support beams are installed on the road's new bridge.

Roads ACT director Tony Gill said installation of the 15 beams would begin Friday night and close Fairbairn Avenue between Northcott Drive and Majura Road every night between 6.30pm and 5am until next Thursday, April 2.
"These support beams will be lifted and secured into their final position using a 350 tonne mobile crane," he said.
"Fairbairn Avenue will be closed...to allow for these works to be carried out safely."
A number of traffic diversions will be in place while the road is closed.
Westbound traffic travelling to the city from Majura Road will be diverted via Fairbairn Avenue, Pialligo Avenue, Morshead Drive and Anzac Parade, back to Fairbairn Avenue.
Eastbound traffic travelling from the city to Majura Road or the airport will be diverted through Northcott Drive to Morshead Drive or Anzac Parade toward Parks Way and back to Fairbairn Avenue.
Barriers and warning and diversion signs will be in place.
