It is the second year for the Pedal Power event and it is one of the few off-road events they host.
Event manager Stuart Jones said they were surprised by the numbers last year so decided to run the Trail Blaze again.
"There are a few little tough climbs but it is certainly not super technical or hard terrain," Mr Jones said.
"Most other Pedal Power events are road riding and the Trail Blaze is fairly unique in its bush setting. You can be 10 minutes from a town centre but feel like you are in the middle of nowhere, in that way it is
fairly unique."
He said riders would cover areas of the capital that most people wouldn't come across.
"It just gives you quite a different view of areas that you wouldn't normally see," Mr Jones said.
The family friendly version of the ride is across a scenic 35 kilometre course while there is a 145 kilometre leg-burner for advanced riders looking to challenge themselves.
A third 65 kilometre ride will also take place which explores Canberra's southern reaches.
Lynne Prentice took on the Trail Blaze last year and said it was a fabulous experience.
"It's getting out in the fresh air and that's what we need these days," she said.
"It was a great day out and I loved it."
The Trail Blaze welcomes the Heart Foundation as the official charity partner for the 2014 event.
This allows riders to make a contribution to a major charity just by taking part.
The Centenary Trail opened last year as part of the 100th anniversary celebration of Canberra.
The Canberra Centenary Trail Blaze takes place on Sunday, September 14, and covers some of the best terrain the bush capital has to offer.
