Detectives have been investigating the murder of 33-year-old Corey Power for almost five weeks, after he was found unconscious and severely beaten in a Young street on August 29.

Despite the efforts of paramedics and doctors, he died in hospital a short time later.

Detective Inspector Paul Huxtable said there had been no “explosive” developments in the case, but CCTV footage seized by police could be released to the public within days.

He could not confirm the number of people believed to be involved in Mr Power’s death, but said multiple people were helping police with their inquiries.

"There are a number of people we’re talking to," he said.

"I wouldn’t say we’ve got any suspects."

Detective Inspector Huxtable said a post-mortem revealed Mr Power had been struck in the head with an iron bar "or similar implement" multiple times.

Police are yet to recover a weapon, despite police divers searching a river near the crime scene last month.

Mr Power had moved back to the NSW town less than a week before his death to be closer to his four-year-old daughter.

His sister Phia told Fairfax Media she believed a targeted attack killed her brother, who she described as a "typical male" who would only get into an argument over football.

"They know each other, there’s no doubt," she told Fairfax Media.

"But there are just a few pieces of the puzzle that are missing. Social media will hopefully bring something out of the woodwork."
