The ACT government says drivers using the intersections on Ashley Drive and Erindale Drive have complained of congestion and delays in recent years.
Territory and Municipal Services Minister Shane Rattenbury said the new part-time lights would operate between 7.45am and 9am, and should address these issues.
"The lights will improve the flow of traffic at the roundabout in the morning peak period and will be switched on from Friday October 3, at 7.45am," he said.
"However these timings may be tweaked over time to ensure the lights are working harmoniously with traffic conditions."
Mr Rattenbury said the lights were part of a $7 million upgrade to the intersection.
The upgrade also included duplicating Erindale Drive between Sternberg Crescent and Ashley Drive, new left slip turn lanes on Erindale Drive at Sternberg Crescent and Ashley Drive and new traffic signals at the intersection of Ashley Drive and McBryde Crescent.
Mr Rattenbury said the ACT Government was designing a second phase of work in the area, involving duplicating Ashley Drive and new off-road shared paths adjacent to Ashley Drive and Isabella Drive. But this would be subject to future funding.
