A new walk-in centre in Tuggeranong opened its doors for the first time on Thursday morning.

Chief Minister Katy Gallagher officially opened the new nurse-led walk-in centre at the Tuggeranong Community Health Centre.
The opening of the centre follows the closure of the Canberra Hospital walk-in centre on Wednesday night.
Ms Gallagher said the Canberra Hospital centre saw about 63,000 patients in the four years it was open, with about 80 per cent of patients coming from Tuggeranong. The centres offer medical treatment for minor illnesses and injuries.

The Belconnen centre will officially open on Tuesday morning. Both centres will open from 7.30am to 10pm every day.
“The government has also strategically located these centres in the new Belconnen and Tuggeranong Community Health Centres, which are already providing a range of health services in a community setting like physiotherapy and dental care as well as alcohol counselling," Ms Gallagher said.
The Tuggeranong walk-in centre is located at the Tuggeranong Community Health Centre on the corners of Anketell and Pitman streets.
The Belconnen centre will be located at Belconnen Community Health Centre on the corners of Lathlain and Cohen streets.
