Music, fairy floss, facepainting, a magician and cupcakes are just some of the attractions. with the first 50 buyers receiving a free showbag of goodies donated by the shop's stockists. All money raised on the day will be donated to HeartKids, a charity supporting families of children with heart defects, and a second local charity, which will be surprised on the day.

The day kicks off at 10am with a welcome to country and smoke ceremony by Selina Walker. The shop will be officially opened at 10.30am by Member for Canberra Gai Brodtmann.

The Markets Wanniassa shop, brainchild of locals Fiona and James Lester, is home to a treasure trove of curated items with the majority of them hand-made in Canberra.

The couple sell items in the shop on behalf of a range of small business people, many of whom now have their first bricks and mortar outlet after otherwise selling online or at markets.

Items for sale at the store include toys, clothes, accessories and room decorations for babies and kids; soy candles, soaps and other skin care products; alpaca wool; greeting cards and wall art; pet accessories; home and garden decor; jewellery and hair accessories and revolutionary, no-blowout thongs.
