A 29-year-old north Canberra man has been charged and refused bail after he allegedly smashed an iPad over his former partner, before running away from police.

The father of two appeared before the ACT Magistrates Court on Saturday morning after he was arrested on Friday night.
He was also the subject of a police warrant for failing at attend court earlier in April on charges of assault and robbery.
Police allege the man was intoxicated when he entered his former partner's home while she was in the shower and their children were playing downstairs at 10.20pm.
When the woman asked why he was there, he allegedly told her to "leave me alone or I will f--- you up".
The woman then picked up her young daughters and ran outside with her mobile phone and called police.
Shortly after, the man allegedly followed her outside holding his daughter's iPad and struck his former partner with it on her right shoulder, causing the screen to smash.
The man then ran away before police arrived. Police say officers began to chase him across a footbridge in Lyneham.
Police then caught the man, arrested him with the iPad, and took him to the ACT watch-house.
Magistrate Beth Campbell refused the man's bail application. He will face court on June 2.
