Since an article published in The Canberra Times on Tuesday, detailing Stephanie's likeness to the American actress and future wife of Prince Harry, Stephanie's mobile phone has not stopped buzzing.
Channel 7 wants her to appear on Sunrise. Channel 10 wants her for one of its reality television series. But it was a phone call from a talent agent in Europe that has the Meghan Markle lookalike stunned.
"[The agent] said that this was just the beginning, that the demand for me to appear at events and in mock advertising campaigns in the UK could be huge," Stephanie said.
"I'm in shock to be honest. I had no idea the story would go viral."
It's been a whirlwind week for Stephanie, who was spotted by The Canberra Times on Sunday morning, waiting tables at Ricardo's in Jamison. (She was helping out Ricardo, who is a friend.) While initially reluctant to be in a story, the shy Maori-Australian decided to go ahead with appearing in the paper "for a bit of fun".
While she's not giving up her job as the manager of Lorna Jane's Belconnen store anytime soon, she's seeking legal advice and "seriously considering" appointing the European-based talent agent who approached her after reading Tuesday's story.
"I never even considered the fact I could make a career out of this," she said.
"But I guess there are other people out there making a living out of looking like Prince William, Kate Middleton and the Queen, so why not?"
