The latest corrections data was released by the Australian Bureau of Statistics on Thursday for the December 2014 quarter.
It showed an increase in the average daily imprisonment rate from 113 prisoners per 100,000 people to 114 prisoners from the December 2013 quarter to the December 2014 quarter.
Despite the increase, the total numbers of prisoners housed in the Alexander Maconochie Centre dropped significantly late last year.
Prisoner numbers fell from a record high of 352 in November last year, to 335 in December.
The average daily number of prisoners in 2014 was 336.
Overcrowding at the prison reached crisis point in the past two years.
The average number of detainees had risen from 275 in 2012, to 294 in 2013, and to 336 last year.
It forced the government to take urgent steps to temporarily boost the capacity of the prison from 332 to 366 beds, while fast-tracking a $54 million expansion project to add 110 beds to the Hume facility by mid-2016.
The data released on Thursday also showed a jump in the ACT's indigenous imprisonment rate, from 1,396 prisoners per 100,000 people in the December 2013 quarter to the 1,530 in the last December quarter.
