Police said a 54-year-old man was walking home to his Northbourne Flats unit when he was approached by a man wearing a dark coloured hooded top and Doc Martin boots about 8.30pm.
The offender demanded the man’s wallet before stabbing the victim in the leg with a box-cutter. The offender fled and the victim was taken to The Canberra Hospital for treatment.
About two hours later, an 18-year-old woman was walking through Haig Park towards Northbourne Flats when she was grabbed from behind by a man.
The man produced a box-cutter knife and attempted to cut the strap of her handbag, leaving a small cut on the teenager’s face in the process.
The man has been described as being in his early 20s and approximately 178cm tall, with dark hair.
