Colleagues of 38-year-old cardiac technician Linda Cox organised the petition, which was tabled in the Legislative Assembly yesterday.
Mrs Cox was killed in a hit-and-run on the crossing on May 3, her death witnessed by hospital staff who were crossing the road to the staff car park after finishing shifts.
A second crash at the same set of traffic lights the next morning left a motorcyclist in hospital.
Health Minister and Territory and Municipal Services Minister Katy Gallagher told the assembly yesterday the government was urgently reviewing the safety of Yamba Drive near the hospital, between Kitchener Street and Hindmarsh Drive.
The Chief Minister said the petition, consultation with hospital staff, and submissions from other sources, including the Canberra Pedestrian Forum, would be considered.
Ms Gallagher said a draft report would be presented to Roads ACT and the Health directorate by the end of the month and she would receive a final report in July.
