Chief Minister and Health Minister Katy Gallagher has launched the Population Health Commissioning Atlas, which was prepared by the ACT Medical Local.
The atlas will be used to help plan health services.
It identified higher levels of overweight and obesity among females in the Belconnen, North Canberra, Weston and Tuggeranong districts.
Males were more likely to be overweight if they lived in Belconnen, North Canberra or Tuggeranong.
Smoking rates were highest in Belconnen, North Canberra and Tuggeranong and heart disease deaths were highest in those areas.
The report also showed the refugees mostly settled in the inner-north, Belconnen and Tuggeranong.
"There are a smaller concentration of [refugees] in Tuggeranong and Weston Creek, but very few in the inner south,'' the report said.
Ms Gallagher said the atlas provided a comprehensive look at the health profile of the ACT community and mapped out the different health conditions affecting different groups in Canberra.
"Joint activity between ACT Health and the ACT Medicare Local is vital if we are to plan and provide the best possible health services for the residents of the ACT and surrounding area,'' Ms Gallagher said.
"High quality data and information allows us to not only provide mainstream health services to the general community, but also allows us to see where services are missing or are not reaching the clients who need them.''
