A triple-0 call was made to the woodfire pizza and pasta store in Bradley Street at 10.57am, and three fire pumpers responded along with the Bronto Skylift Hydraulic Platform. The area was evacuated as a precaution.
By 11.50am, fire crews had extinguished the blaze.
The fire began in the exhaust of the woodfire pizza oven. Authorities said there was substantial water and smoke damage to the restaurant, but the fire damage was contained to the exhaust system.
Ambulance crews were also called, however no injuries were reported.
