Canberra police have called for caution on the roads after a dramatic crash early Monday in the city’s north.

A young woman was lucky to escape serious injuries when she lost control of her car on Coulter Drive in Florey at 5.50 am, when the Mazda 3 hit trees and flipped on to its roof.
The 21-year-old p-plater behind the wheel sustained only minor injuries and she was taken to Calvary Hospital for treatment.
Acting Superintendent Rod Anderson said the accident should be a warning to Canberra drivers of the dangers of wet roads.
“Remember to reduce your speed and increase your distance from the vehicle in front of you so you have ample space to brake in the wet and slippery conditions,” Superintendent Anderson said.
“I also ask motorists to be patient on our roads.
“Speeding and erratic driving on slippery roads can very easily lead to tragedy.”
The officer also said that double demerit points would be enforced for speeding and seatbelt offences until January 1, with an extra point for all other traffic offences also applying during the period.
