Police chase after man flees random breath test
A man crossed a median strip and mounted a gutter during a police chase after he fled from a random breath test, police said.
They said they arrested a 21-year-old Isaacs man after in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
"Around 3.10am police were conducting breath tests on Drakeford Drive in Isabella Plains. The driver of the silver Holden Monaro conducted a U-turn in front of police and drove away," they said in a statement.
"Police followed the driver, activating their warning lights and sirens. The driver failed to stop, instigating a pursuit. The pursuit lasted approximately three minutes. The driver crossed a median strip and mounted a gutter, causing the deflation of a tyre."
The man, who was found to be a disqualified driver, was arrested and will face several charges in the ACT Magistrates Court.
