Police were called to the apartment on Eastlake Parade about 1.50am on Friday morning by paramedics, where they found the 29-year-old woman dead.

A 31-year-old man, who police said lives in the waterfront apartment, assisted officers with their investigations. Police would not speculate on their relationship.

ACT Policing's criminal investigation team also examined the scene and forensics attended to prepare a report for the ACT Coroner.

Police said they have notified the woman's immediate family, who have requested privacy.
