The Chapman Primary School student was walking along Fremantle Drive towards Bunbury Street about 3pm when he saw a white van driving slowly behind him.
The driver drove away quickly once the boy reached his home, and was last seen turning right onto Bunbury Street.
It follows a similar incident involving the same child, which allegedly occurred about six weeks earlier.
Duffy Primary School alerted parents to the issue via its Facebook page on Wednesday, under the heading “student safety alert”.
ACT Policing has launched an investigation into the incident and is urging the public for information about the white van, which has tinted windows and is believed to possibly be a Mercedes Vito or a similar model.
It has a side sliding door on the driver’s side and two small, untinted windows on the rear doors. The front driver’s side tyre does not have a hub cap and a rear tail light is broken.
Anyone who may have seen this van in or around the area or can assist police with the investigation is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via act.crimestoppers.com.au.
