About 6.55pm, a man entered the Ah Chu Asian Provisions supermarket in Colbee Court, Phillip, wielding a screwdriver and demanding cash from the two staff.
The store had closed for the day when the man entered via the rear. Police said the man grabbed the cash drawer and ran off.

The offender had a dark complexion, was aged in his 20s, about 180centimetres tall, with a medium build and a strong accent, possibly Eastern European or Middle Eastern. He was wearing a blue shirt over his head, dark clothing and gloves on his hands.
Police urged anyone who may witnesses suspicious activity in Colbee Court, or who may be able to assist officers with the investigation, to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via www.act.crimestoppers.com.au
