ACT Police are investigating another suspicious fire on Discovery Street in Red Hill just a day after four garages caught alight behind a unit complex.

According to police, the second fire in as many days was reported around 7.15pm on Monday night.
"ACT Fire and Rescue attended, however the fire had already been extinguished by residents using a hose. Investigations are ongoing," a police spokeswoman said.
"The fire on Sunday night occurred at a different location in Discovery Street, Red Hill. At this stage the incidents are not believed to be linked."
Police detectives believe the first fire was deliberately lit with emergency services responding to public reports around 9.30pm on Sunday.
While no units were affected, there was a ute inside one of the garages which was also damaged.
Emergency services gave a preliminary estimate of the damage bill from Sunday night's fire at $50,000.
