Symonston man Jeffrey David Lee, 45, was charged with the murder of his mother's partner, Neal Keith Wilkinson in his Wanniassa home on Tuesday, March 10.
Police are now looking for two young men who were walking along a bike path between Erindale College and McWhae Circuit about 6.40pm on the night of the death.
Police say the men are not suspects but could be helpful witnesses and their accounts could be important.
The path is a popular route for students and walkers after work.
Police are also looking for information about a white Mitsubishi Lancer sedan with a spoiler parked in the Erindale Shops carpark, directly outside the Support Link building, the same night.
ACT Policing have urged anyone who may be able to assist police with the investigation to contact ACT Region Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via act.crimestoppers.com.au.
