A woman suffered serious head injuries when she was thrown onto the road in a suspected hit and run incident in Queanbeyan on Saturday night.

Police said a Hyundai Accent was being driven along Davison Street when it collided with the woman, 30, about 5pm.
The driver allegedly fled the scene and left the car behind.
Paramedics took the woman to Canberra Hospital for treatment. She underwent surgery and remains in a serious condition.
Police set up a crime scene on Davison Street and seized the car for their investigations into the incident.
Detectives from Monaro local area command have appealed for anyone who witnessed the collision or who has information about the identity of the driver to contact police.
