Firefighters were first called to the suburb to assess damaged power lines that landed on a backyard pool fence around 10am.

Firefighters assessed the damaged lines and ensured the area was safe before ActewAGL technicians arrived to repair them.

Firefighters also found a tree had damaged power lines and a pole nearby, cutting electricity to Beasley and Parsons Streets.

They isolated the power and Actew AGL electricity was restored later in the afternoon.

The ACT State Emergency Service and Fire and Rescue has responded to 11 calls for help across the capital since 1am on Wednesday as a result of the windy weather, with gusts reaching 59 km/h.

The majority of call outs have been to trees and branches across roads and pathways.

Two residential roofs have also been damaged.

Weatherzone meteorologist said conditions in Canberra would ease in coming days but would become cooler on the weekend.

"The low is weakening which means conditions are going to drop back on Thursday although the winds will remain fresh," he said.

"On Thursday morning they should become moderate but compared to what they have been in the last couple of days they won't seems so bad and will be closer to normal."

Mr McBernie said those waking early for the dawn service on Saturday would be met by temperatures around seven degrees, before warning to 15 degrees later in the day.

"We could see some winter-like conditions on Saturday afternoon with a chance of snowfall on the Brindabellas," he said.
