Prices for established ACT houses grew by 2.1 per cent in the December quarter, according to preliminary figures from the Australian Bureau of Statistics.

The preliminary price index for established houses in the eight Australian capital cites grew by 1.6 per cent to 2.1 per cent through the year to December.
In Canberra, the price index for established house indexes grew by 2.1 per cent, or 0.3 per cent for the year to December.
Capital city indexes for the quarter grew in Sydney by 2.3 per cent; Perth by 2.9 per cent; Melbourne by 0.7 per cent; Brisbane by 0.7 percent; Adelaide by 0.8 per cent; and Darwin by 2.6 per cent. But Hobart experienced a 1.4 per cent fall.
According to RP Data-Rismark figures published last week, ACT house values were up 1.7 per cent over the quarter and 2.4 per cent year on year. The median dwelling price in Canberra was $575,000.
