Prisoner on the run in Cooma
A convicted murderer is on the run after escaping custody in Cooma on Tuesday afternoon.
Adam Bowhay, 34, was with two other inmates at Snowy Oval in Cooma as part of a local work release program when he fled the area at 1.15pm. He has not been since.
Bowhay, a Cooma Correctional Centre inmate, is serving a 23-year sentence for a murder in 1997.

Police from Monaro Local Area Council have mounted a major search of the area for the prisoner.
Any members of the public who sight Bowhay are warned not to approach him but to call triple-zero immediately.
He is described as being of Caucasian appearance, approximately 184 centimetres tall, of a medium to large build with a bald head and clean-shaven face.
He has tattoos around his neck, upper arm and legs.
He was last seen wearing work gear – a fluorescent yellow shirt and blue and green ‘King Gee’ brand long pants.
