Not all of television's roads are leading to the TV Week Logies next weekend. PS hears network politics will see a distinct lack of big names from at least one network walking the red carpet and parading about Crown's Palladium ballroom for the industry's "night of nights". The Logies are broadcast on the Nine Network, which has long been accused by rivals of favouring its own talent in the broadcast, lavishing Nine personalities with attention on the red carpet and during the telecast at the expense of stars from the other networks. PS hears the Seven Network is not sending some of its biggest stars – the Sunrise and Morning Show hosts – to the soiree, and won't be doing its traditional post-Logies coverage as it has done in previous years. Seven has also cancelled its Logies after-party. However Seven's loss bodes well for some of the talent scheduled to walk the red carpet this year, namely Eurovision winner Conchita Wurst, who is no doubt burning up the Janome whipping up some fabulous gown to wear. However PS hopes she/he at has a shave before fronting the cameras.

Stefanovic out of the storm

What a welcome home for Channel Nine's former European correspondent Peter Stefanovic. Karl's kid brother was thrust into the thick of it during the Sydney storms: he did crosses for the network while being sand-blasted at Bondi Beach and continued to report on the situation standing in torrential rain, soaked to the core. Indeed he was so consumed in the storms story he had to postpone a special birthday lunch he was planning for girlfriend and colleague Sylvia Jeffreys.

Sutton in Who's chair

Who magazine deputy editor Shane Sutton has been appointed to the editor's chair as the popular weekly magazine's former editor Nicky Briger moves on to the helm of Marie Claire following founding editor Jackie Frank's elevation to a group publishing role. Sutton landed the gig following a hotly contested battle with some very interesting names putting their hands up for the coveted position. He starts next week.
