Prosecutors have attacked an accused murderer's handwritten letter explaining his innocence, describing aspects of his story as "fiction" and "clearly not supported by the evidence".

The Crown on Monday began its lengthy closing submission in the month-long ACT Supreme Court trial of Danny Klobucar, 27.
Klobucar is accused of inflicting fatal blunt force trauma to the head of Miodrag Gajic, 71, at his Phillip unit on New Year's Day in 2014.
It is alleged he first met Mr Gajic two days earlier, when his uncle took him to the man's Mansfield Place unit to buy cannabis.
The Crown says Klobucar, whose mental health was deteriorating, formed the belief that Mr Gajic was a paedophile after seeing his car, a Nissan Micra.
The Crown allege he went back to home and beat Mr Gajic to death between 10.40am and 11.10am on New Year's Day.
Klobucar, however, denies he caused Mr Gajic's death, while also relying on a defence of mental impairment should the jury find otherwise.
The accused has not given evidence in the trial, but did outline a version of events in a handwritten letter to psychiatrist Dr Stephen Allnutt.
He said before he got to Mr Gajic's home, he saw his uncle and a former housemate speeding away from the area. He said he waved to them, but they didn't wave back.
Klobucar said Mr Gajic was already dead when he got there, and that he panicked, grabbing the dead man's phone because he had no credit. Klobucar said he left with the intention of going to the police, but later decided against it because he didn't want to become a suspect.
He said he used Mr Gajic's phone to call his uncle and former housemate to find out why they were speeding away, and then went to the former housemate's home, banged on his door, and yelled that he was a murderer.
In his closing submission on Monday, prosecutor Mark Fernandez said much of Klobucar's version was not supported by evidence.
Both Klobucar's uncle and former housemate said they had never met each other, and neither could remember leaving the house on New Year's Day.
Evidence also suggested that Klobucar had credit on his mobile phone at the time, Mr Fernandez said.
The partner of his former housemate also told the court that no-one had yelled or banged on their door on New Year's Day, although she did say someone performed a burnout outside their home.
Mr Fernandez said there was a narrow window of time in which Mr Gajic could have been killed, and the evidence pointed to Klobucar being in his unit at that time.
"It's clear, in my submission, that he was in there at ... or near the point in time that Mr Gajic was killed," he said.
The Crown say a witness saw a man matching Klobucar's description arriving at Mansfield Place in a white ute similar to the one owned by the accused.
Bloodied shoeprints found at the scene are also said to match a Puma sports shoe found in Klobucar's car.
The Crown's closing submission continues on Tuesday before Justice HIlary Penfold. Mr Fernandez is expected to deal with the mental impairment issue at that time.
