FASHION entrepreneurs Sean Watson and Kelli Donovan are rapidly making a name for themselves with their Canberra brand of sustainable clothing - but now they are about to get dirty.

Watson and Donovan's sustainable fashion brand, Pure Pod, has won a contract to design merchandise and clothing for the popular ABC children's show dirtgirlworld. They will be making boys' and girls' clothing for the eco-themed show, which revolves around Dirtgirl, and Scrapboy, who grow food in their garden and have environmental adventures.
Watson said the connection with the hit show came about when he and Donovan launched their business in Byron Bay in 2007.
''The creators of dirtgirlworld were based in the same area, and one thing led to another,'' he said.
Donovan has a background in children's clothing, which made her perfect for designing the dirtgirlworld apparel to be released this year.
Watson said the ethos of the show fitted well with Pure Pod, a sustainable fashion brand that will be featured on the Fashfest catwalks at the end of the month.
''Dirtgirl is all about getting out in the garden and getting dirty, and Scrapboy is about recycling,'' he said. ''There will be a little utility vest for the guys, a set of overalls for the girls - you know, real clothing, not just T-shirts.
''We like to see them as a unisex range and it comes down to parents and where they like to stick [their children]. We'll be making those overalls in an organic blue denim, as well as a pink denim.''
