Touched by the death of his grandfather to Motor Neurone Disease in 2013, Giorgioni vowed to fight against the incurable nerve cell disease which quickly attacks a sufferer's ability to walk, speak, swallow and then breath.

Giorgioni came across the 35-year-old mother of three on Facebook and, in a random act of kindness, decided his fight would be for her.

So on Saturday night, Giorgioni flew to the Gold Coast to present Wild with $6136 raised from his bout at Canberra's Hellenic Club last weekend, his trophy and, most importantly, hope.

"Words can't describe it, what a stranger who knows nothing about your family does," said Wild's brother, Geoff.

"He's literally our family's hero.

"What Chris has done for our family in a matter of weeks is incredible and the amount of money he's raised and awareness and the support that is behind Jaime."

Giorgioni, 25, watched Motor Neurone Disease cripple and eventually kill his grandfather within a year, in 2013.

"It was about 12 months from when he was diagnosed until when he died," he said. "The rate of decline was amazing, just how quickly they deteriorate was pretty hard to see.

"He would go from starting to slow down and the speech would slow down to not long being in the wheelchair and not being able to walk and not being able to speak.

"It was pretty hard, especially knowing the brain was still there. You could see how frustrated he was, he couldn't get any words out, you're just trapped in your own body. It's horrible."

Giorgioni flew up to Queensland to meet and support Wild at her Cinderella Ball fundraising event on Saturday night. It was a meeting of pure chance.

"I got invited to like [Wild's] Facebook page by my cousin's girlfriend," Giorgioni said.

"I saw the MND after her name and looked into it after I lost my grandfather to MND in 2013.

"I had planned to do some sort of fundraising event for the MND foundation.

"It turned out when I talked to Jaime's brother I changed my plan and decided to give all my money to her."

The Wild family is aiming to raise $60,000 to fund stem cell treatment for Jaime in Israel, hoping to extend her life. The treatment isn't offered in Australia and isn't covered by her private health insurance company.

Giorgioni thanked his major contributors Nick Boutzos, Marfe Joinery, Dale Hitchcock, Tourist Hotel, PK Chudleigh, Duratech Industries, George Brown Electrical, Joe Camilleri Transport and the Stockade Training Centre.
