At lunchtime, she conducted a Q and A session with former governor-general Quentin Bryce at a function at the National Gallery of Australia for Breast Cancer Network Australia.
At a sold-out event in the evening, she was at the National Library of Australia in conversation with rocker Jimmy Barnes, talking about his new book Working Class Man.
Somewhere in all that she also managed to host her Mornings program on ABC Radio Canberra.
Genevieve is definitely a dynamo.
Dame Quentin, meanwhile, who ended her stint as governor-general in March, 2014, said she was happy to be back in Canberra.
"Of course, I do love being at home with my family [in Brisbane] but Michael and I loved our years here and I spent some lovely times in this place," she said, of the gallery.
"All the national institutions are so wonderful and I got to know them so well."
