The national science and technology centre was one of a host of businesses and events across the capital honoured at the 2015 Canberra Region Tourism Awards on Thursday night.
Last year's Floriade took out the Major Festivals and Events category while the 2015 National Folk Festival took home top spot in Festivals and Events.
Canberra Airport got the gong for Specialised Tourism Services, while the National Electoral Education Centre was recognised in the Tourism Visitor Education category.
Yass Valley Information Centre was the winner in Visitor Information Services while Four Winds Vineyard took home the Visitor Experience Award.
The year's Young Achiever Award went to Sunil Choudhary, and Jonathan Kobus won the Outstanding Contribution by an Individual category.
In the Standard Accommodation section, Bush Capital Lodge came out on top.
Hotel Realm won the Luxury Accommodation category while Avenue Hotel won the New Tourism Business division.
The award for Excellence in Sustainable Tourism went to the ACT branch of Intercontinental Hotels Group for the Crowne Plaza and National Convention Centre Canberra.
The group's sustainable credentials include providing 1215 meals to people in need by donating unused food to OzHarvest and donating 130 used doonas to ACT families, as well as 41 kilograms of clothing.
Chair of the judges and National Capital Attractions Association spokesman Garry Watson said there is a growing awareness and interest in Canberra's tourist attraction, both at home and from abroad.
"Each year Canberra is growing in both its role as the national capital, but also increasingly as a tourist destination."
Chief minister Andrew Barr commended this year's winners for their innovation and excellence.
"A vibrant tourism sector is essential to our visitor economy and as we aim to grow overnight tourism expenditure in the ACT to $2.5 billion by 2020," he said.
Award winners will represent the Canberra Region at the Australian Tourism Awards in Melbourne in February.
