The Belconnen school last week launched an investigation into the now-closed account Radbellion, which described the school as "a brick prison" and singled out individual staff members.

Principal Fiona Godfrey told The Canberra Times she received support from members of the school community for her efforts in shutting down the page.

"Radford is a caring community where we promote mutually respectful relationships, whether on campus or online," she said.

"Should matters of this nature arise, the college will always address them in an appropriate way."

The Radbellion page is understood to have been created early July and appeared to be student-run.

One post, seen by The Canberra Times, seemed a call to arms.

"What we as students of the place have to realise is that Radford is not the warm, safe place we present as," the post said.

"Inside the brick prison, staff are bullied and blackmailed on a daily basis ... Do not let this continue.

"Start the #radbellion by being enlightened of the true horrors beneath the supposed truthful, compassionate and wise front."

Some secondary school parents were contacted last week and told their child followed the page and had been randomly selected to respond to questions.

Ms Godfrey assured parents she was not accusing their child of being involved in the anonymously-run page and only sought information about the account.

"In addressing the concerns of our community, discussions were held with some secondary school students about their knowledge of this account, in the same way they are ordinarily asked about events which affect the community," she said this week.

"The college has sought advice on whether the account holder made defamatory comments, and the advice is this is clearly the case.

"There have been many expressions of support from throughout the Radford community, and we thank them for this."

Radford College did not comment on whether it knew who was behind the page or if it would take legal action against its administration.
